ABOUT ME

Basketball, Like Life, Is A Mental Game.

Hi, my name is Coach Jones.  For 30+ years I've been coaching basketball players; 2 years old to 50+; pre-school through mens league; Special Olympics to college basketball.  I've had as fine a group of athletes teach me about basketball coaching through out the years as any coach could ever wish to have.
My basketball coaching goal has always been to help athletes see their potential, assist them in realizing it then blasting through that potential by teaching and helping them to stand on their own shoulders, it's great to stand on the shoulders of giants past but sooner or later one is forced to rely on one's self.
I've been an avid student of hypnosis and it's many branches for more than 2 decades focusing on sports, specifically basketball.  I've studied at length under the greats; Krasner, Neves, Tad James, and Richard Bandler (in that order).  This knowledge underlies my unique basketball coaching style, perspective, and teaching philosophy.

The single most important process anyone coaching basketball can be involved in is teaching basics; the single most important process a player can go through is learning basics.  Coaches and players can communicate only when both are standing on familiar ground speaking the same language.  When I say basics, I mean basicsBasics basically begin with the "
pass."  A dribble is literally a pass to one's self, and a shot is literally a pass to the basket, therefore a great passer naturally evolves into a great dribbler and a great basketball shooterThe most important basic of all is that basketball is a sport, sports are games, and games are FUN!

I do not teach basics on this website, in videos, in my eBook, or in clinics.  Innumerable books have covered the basics of basketball for many many years.  I do not wish to regurgitate all that knowledge.  If you want to learn that basic knowledge, go to the library.  One can spend literally years studying basics, and I encourage you to do so.  Within the pages of this website I'll direct you to various publications, publications researched by me and deemed to be great building blocks for the information I teach you.

A great basketball player understands the theories behind defense and offense - however the theory underlying basketball escapes most people on a basketball court most of the time.

The purpose of this website, www.basketballshootingcoach.com, is obvious; teach you to become a prolific scorer.  You're not gonna' hear the same ol' stuff here.  The only product for sale on this website is the basketball shooting E-Book "The 'Mental Key' to High Percentage Basketball Shooting," and the accompanying 1-on1 coaching clinic.  This E-book is unique in and of itself and it is guaranteed to work!
On this website you will learn, and understand how to execute aspects of this wonderful game of basketball you never even knew existed, I don't care who you are!

There are thousands of so called "basketball shooting coaches."  Having researched most of them I find they teach basically the same things; they teach mechanics; they teach complicated shooting mechanics.   After learning the 'Mental Key' to basketball shooting, shooting mechanics evolve easily and naturally.  Why don't those "basketball shooting coaches" teach the 'Mental Key' to basketball shooting?  They don't know it.

Thanks for visiting; all comments and feedback are welcome and appreciated.  I'm interested in what I can do to help you and in what you want to learn.
